Sixth call for proposals at the National Innovation Fund

On October 1st,  2012 the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency  launches  its Sixth Call for Proposals under the National Innovation Fund.

The strategic objective of the Fund is to increase the competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy by stimulating market-oriented applied research for industry and creating conditions for attracting private capital to finance innovation, in line with the Innovation Strategy of the Republic of Bulgaria and the measures for its realization.

There are two types of projects that are eligible to participate in the call as follows:

• Research development projects

• Projects for technical feasibility

Priority areas for funding are:

Information and communication technologies


Biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry,

New materials and nanotechnology

Environmental technologies and waste treatment

Energy-saving technologies

Innovative technologies for urban management.

Who can participate:

Subsidy may apply to all persons registered under the Commercial Code of the Republic of Bulgaria, realizing projects in Bulgaria, alone or jointly with other persons registered under the Commerce Act, universities, BAS, scientific organizations or groups.

The call session is also eligible for Bulgarian organizations involved in international  EUREKA projects in order to receive funding.
